This beautiful old house was built in 1856 as the schoolhouse of Pöschenried and is now a historically protected building. The school moved its high school students to the Lenk school in 1997 and the primary school kids followed in 2010. It had been empty, more or less until we purchased it in 2013.

As the lodge is under the historical protection act the exterior must be preserved and renovations must fit to the existing structure. When construction started the lodge was still set up as a school with a school kitchen and lunch room in the subterran floor along with girls and boys bathrooms. The school had 2 main classrooms on the ground floor, a teachers staff room and a storage room on the second. The top floor was an attic that was filled with many years of junk, wobbly school chairs and dust. It now has a new and strengthened roof, wool insulation where the wind once blew through the boards, a sauna, whirlpool, 8 bedrooms and bathrooms and much more. The lodge has been reconstructed with love as this was a personal project of our family, we did most of the work by ourselves.
